The Good, the Bad and the Ferryman :

• The movie has proven that bestselling authors taking the role of directors is not always a good move, as their amazing novels usually don't translate the way they want it to be on screen.

• Though this doesn't apply to all, it certainly applies to Chinese writer-turned-director Zhang Jiajia who previously also directed another movie based on his books named "I Belonged to You", which also turned out poorly.

• Despite featuring A-listers like Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Eason Chan and Angelababy, the movie couldn't help but fall short due to its poor direction and weak script.

Trivia:

• The movie is loosely based on the director's best-selling book "Passing From Your World".
