9 Sep – Labelled as a hor-medy (horror comedy) by Singaporean director Jack Neo, his latest film "Where Got Ghost?" together with first-time director Boris Boo is a compilation of three standalone stories: Roadside Got Ghost, Forest Got Ghost and House Got Ghost. Currently playing in Singapore, the film had its Malaysian premiere at GSC 1 Utama last night where special appearances from Jack Neo and actress Lai Ming surprised movie patrons at the scene. This latest movie project is Neo's first attempt at a horror comedy after releasing many well-known comedic films such as "Ah Long Pte Ltd", "Money No Enough" and "Money No Enough 2". As is the case with most of Neo's films, "Where Got Ghost?" derives a huge share of its humour from the Hokkien language and the Singaporean way of life such as the obsession with 4D lotteries and national service jargons. But can non-Hokkien speakers appreciate the humour? Cinema Online "Where Got Ghost?" contest winners were fortunate enough to catch the premiere, where we asked some of them after the screening, "What they thought of the movie, whether they believe non-Hokkien speakers will be able to understand the humour and how many stars would they rate it out of five".
