24 Feb – Paramount Pictures have confirmed that their new rising star, Hailee Steinfeld is to star in the forthcoming teen sci-fi romance film "Forgotten", an adaptation of forthcoming novel by Cat Patrick, reports Deadline.

The "True Grit" actress will play the character named London Lane - a teenager whose memory is erased every night and who can 'remember' events from the future.

The plot sees things change for London when she meets a boy at school and finds that she could not see him in her future memories.

"Fake Empire"'s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are signed on to produce the film while Patrick's book is due to be published by Little Brown in June.

A tentative release date is yet to be confirmed.

Steinfeld's portrayal as Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers' "True Grit" earned her a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for the Oscars this year that will take place on 27 February in Los Angeles.

"True Grit" tells the journey of a headstrong young girl named Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfield) who enlists the help of a former U.S Marshall, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to track and hunt down her father's murderer, Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). Along with a Texas Ranger La Beaouf (Matt Damon), the trio go on a journey that will leave a deep impact in everyone involved.

"True Grit" will be showing at cinemas in Malaysia and Singapore on 24 February 2011.
