Michael Bay's "Ninja Turtles" delayed

The reboot of the famous comic-based film has been delayed for a 2014 summer release.

18 June – Pushing the release of known blockbuster movies to a later date just means bad news for both the studio and moviegoers, with the recent victim being the Michael Bay-produced "Ninja Turtles" remake, which saw Paramount putting a stop to the pre-production process and pushing the release date from Christmas 2013 to 16 May 2014, according to Deadline.

"Ninja Turtles" is not the first Paramount film to receive this treatment this year. Earlier, Jon M. Chu's "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", which was pulled out just weeks before its prime summer release date due to the film's plot problems and updated plans to reshoot the action film. Following that, Paramount had to delay the release date of Brad Pitt's zombie movie "World War Z" for reshoots.

It is reported that the main reason for the delay of "Ninja Turtles", which was in pre-production stage in Vancouver, was due to major changes of ideas regarding the script and budget plans.

"Ninja Turtles" is set to be directed by "Wrath Of The Titans" director Jonathan Liebesman.
