Tina Fey producing Disney's witch movie

Tina Fey, the actress from the comedy series "30 Rock" is set to produce Disney's upcoming witch film.

6 Jul – American actress, comedian, writer and producer, Tina Fey who is famous for her roles in "30 Rock", "Mean Girls" and "Muppet Most Wanted" is hired by Disney Studios to produce a witch-themed movie alongside "Cinderella" producer, Allison Shearmur.

According to Variety, previously, a site called Tracking Board reported that Fey will be producing a sequel to Disney's 1993 "Hocus Pocus" which starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

Disney's famous Halloween film, Hocus Pocus starred (L-R) Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker as a family of witches known as the Sanderson Sisters.

However, Fey's representative confirms that it is not true, "Their report is not accurate - Tina is not developing a sequel to Hocus Pocus."

Although the movie is unrelated to Bette Midler's 1993 comedy, it will focus on witchcraft and sorcery and will adopt a similar tone to "Ghostbusters".

Presently, there is no writer for the "Untitled Witch Project" as it is still in early production.

Fey is currently working on her 2015 film project, a Universal comedy film "The Nest" which stars herself and her former colleague, Amy Poehler.
