26 Jan – Fans of film festivals don't have to be all the way in the Netherlands to enjoy the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2017. Join the largest live film festival experience in the world as it brings "Noces", or "A Wedding", to Singapore this weekend. The movie will be screened simultaneously in 49 cities worldwide on Sunday. Here in Singapore, "Noces" will screen at The Projector at 11pm. The interactive screening with include a live Q&A session. "Noces", a co-production by Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Pakistan, tells the story of 18-year-old Zahira who has to pick one of the suitors her traditional Pakistani parents want her to marry. She finds herself dealing with her parents' expectations, an unexpected pregnancy, and her own idea about where her life should lead. The movie will be brought to Singapore via IFFR Live, a first-of-its-kind series of film events held simultaneously in cinemas and on selected VOD platforms throughout Europe and beyond during the film festival. Now in its 46th edition, IFFR will be taking place until 4 February 2017.
