George Clooney says no more to the romance genre


"Ticket to Paradise" is the last of George Clooney's romantic leading man role
27 Mar - George Clooney is turning 64 this year and no longer has the interest to play romantic roles in future films.


The actor said as much recently during his interview with "60 Minutes", as he promoted his new Broadway production of "Good Night, and Good Luck", saying that he will no longer do romance films.

It is noted that his last rom-com was the 2022 movie, "Ticket to Paradise".

"Look, I'm 63 years old. I'm not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men," Clooney said. "That's not my job. I'm not doing romantic films anymore."

Clooney admitted that while the late 90s and early 2000s was the heights of his film career what with several romantic comedies including "One Fine Day" and "Intolerable Cruelty", "Ticket to Paradise" would be his last jump into the genre.

It is noted that the said 2022 film grossed USD 168 million at the global box office.
