8 Aug – Nearly everyone's favourite star, Sam Rockwell, best known for his turns in "Moon", "Iron Man 2" and "Seven Psychopaths", is in early talks to star opposite Rosemarie DeWitt in MGM and Fox 2000′s "Poltergeist" remake. The 44-year-old actor is reportedly intrigued by the prospect of starring in a Sam Raimi produced horror feature film and is the top choice for the male lead but no official confirmation has been handed down yet. The reboot has already been slated to start shooting this fall for a 2014 release. Described as "a revisionist take on the classic horror film", "Poltergeist" is a remake of Tobe Hooper's 1982 horror film, but changes the family's name from Freeling to Bowen. The remake centres on a family who is struggling to make ends meet that relocates to an outdated suburban home. There, they are confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter, which challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil. The remake will be directed by Gil Kenan, who is known for directing "Monster House", and scripted by David Lindsay-Abaire, the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer behind "Oz The Great And Powerful".
Meanwhile, Rockwell is currently filming the dark comedy drama film "Laggies", will next be seen in "A Single Shot", a crime drama-thriller film.
