25 Oct – After 63 days in jail amid investigation into his pornography case in 2021, entrepreneur Raj Kundra is now turning the experience into a movie called "UT 69". The upcoming film recently released its trailer, which features Raj himself in the lead role as he experiences the life inside Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail.
The trailer begins with a news clip about Raj's arrest, followed by his time in jail, as well as friends he made during the two-month period.
The film marks Raj, who is also the husband of Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty, debut as an actor. Speaking about the satirical film, the entrepreneur said that he didn't plan to turn it into a movie at first. "I was writing a book while I was in this 63-day journey inside the jail. My director, who is my friend took my entire notes. He, then, came back to me after 30 days with the writer and said that we will make a movie out of it because we show the story visually," he said. The upcoming movie will be released on 3 November. It is noted that Raj Kundra was previously arrested for allegedly producing and distributing porn films using a subscriber-driven mobile app called 'Hotshots'. He was granted bail in September 2021 by a metropolitan magistrate's court.
