Justice League film in 2013

30 Mar – The new president of the Warner Bros. Pictures, Jeff Robinov, recently sat down for an extensive interview with The LA Times, to discuss his long-term strategy for DC movies in which he revealed that the studio is "aiming to release new 'Batman' and 'Superman' films in 2012 and 'Justice League', a teaming of DC's top heroes, in 2013."

Robinov said a new "Justice League" script is in the works and with a tentative title of "Justice League", the DC film will feature all of its top characters, such as Superman, Batman, The Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman on the big screen in 2013.

Some of the DC movies that are already on the mill is, the upcoming "Green Lantern" (2011),"The Dark Knight Rises" (2012) and the rebooted Superman movie "Man of Steel" (2012).

Besides that, the studio is also actively developing individual projects for "The Flash", "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman", which accounts for some of the key players for the superhero league.

The movie had been very close to production in early 2008 with the title "Justice League: Mortal", but was removed from development due to the Writers Guild of America strike in 2007.

There were also concerns by some at Warner about presenting a competing (and conflicting) version of Batman while director Christopher Nolan's films were breaking box office records.

With Nolan's final Batman movie due out next year, Warner will be free to reboot or completely reinvent the character for "Justice League".

"We have the third Batman, but then we'll have to reinvent Batman...Chris Nolan and (producing partner and wife) Emma Thomas will be producing it (future Batman instalments), so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is."
