26 May – Last week MGM studios announced their plans to remake the classic Stephen King thriller "Carrie" and now Megan Fox is reportedly interested in playing the lead, according to a report by ScreenRant website. With Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ("Big Love") penning a screenplay that will remain truer to the novel than Brian De Palma's 1976 adaptation did, 25 year-old Megan Fox ("Jennifer's Body", "Transformers") is reportedly in pursuit to play the lead as a bullied high school outcast with deadly telekinetic powers. "Megan is a huge fan of the original and would love the chance to play the lead. She's 25 now but she's sure she could still do justice to teenage Carrie. She's told her people to make it happen." According to what an insider close to her said. Fox was apparently claims to be seeking the lead role in Carrie in order to distance herself from the Transformers persona. The same source goes onto claim; that is why she has been adamant about turning down the role of Wonder Woman in a theatrical version of the DC Comics character. The original "Carrie" was released November 3rd, 1976 and stars Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, William Katt, Betty Buckley, Nancy Allen and P.J. Soles. The remake is currently in production with castings underway.
