17 Feb – At 79, Sir Michael Caine is a force to be reckoned with, and the actor was quoted saying that he was grateful that he got to be an actor, as acting had brought him "pleasures" in life, according to The Fan Carpet. Caine's latest appearance in the family adventure movie "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island", which also starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are All Right") and Vanessa Hudgens ("High School Musical"). He played Alexander Anderson, who discovered the lost city of Atlantis, and explained that acting had been the great passion of his life. "I'm lucky that I started out as an amateur actor. Amateur means you do something because you love it," said Caine. "I've been doing something and getting well paid for it for decades, and to think that it's something I used to do for pleasure. Wait, I'm making myself sound like a hooker!" the English actor added humorously. Caine stated that his grandchildren were the main reason that he took up the role in "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island". "I don't make any films the children can go see until "Journey 2". I did the same thing for their mother. When she was 6 or 7, I made "Muppets Christmas Carol" for her," said the constant Academy Award nominee. "Now, my grandchildren will be able to say, "I have a grandfather and he rides around on the back of a giant bumblebee with The Rock. What does your grandfather do?" Fans will get to see Caine again as he reprises his role as Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" come July this year.
