30 May – From what we saw of " Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", it is inevitable that Disney will be launching a fifth instalment for the established Johnny Depp action franchise, and they have also already found their a new pair of directors for the job! "Kon-Tiki" directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg will be replacing director Rob Marshall of "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". The pair made a splash with their Oscar-nominated film "Kon-Tiki", about explorer Thor Heyerdal who goes on an epic 4,300-mile crossing of the Pacific in a Balsa Wood raft in 1947.
Though the pair have very little experience on directing any movie at the scale or with the budget of "Pirates", they could still be solid choices as they know how to make the money stretch and have plenty of experience on the water. Disney's other choices of directors were Fredrik Bond and "Snow White And The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. The production of the film will soon be ready later this year or early next with Johnny Depp back in the lead role.
