16 May – "28 Weeks Later" director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is set to direct Shia LaBeouf in "Villain", a psychological thriller written by "Robocop" remake writer Josh Zetumer. The psychological thriller already has seen more than one director come and go but it seems that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is here to stay. "Villain" follows two brothers who venture into the unforgiving wilds of Alaska to confront their dark past. Estranged for a long time, they hope the trip will help them bond once more, but they get more than they bargained for.
LaBeouf will be one of the brothers but the other has still yet to be cast. The actor was last seen in Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep" and the Sundance Film Festival release "The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman". He will next appear in Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac". Fresnadillo on the other hand last made Spanish thriller "Intruders" and is attached to "Wednesday" and a remake of "X: The Man With The X-Ray Eyes".
