24 Sep – It was confirmed yesterday that Colin Farrell will be playing the lead role for the second season of the popular HBO crime drama series, "True Detective", and today it's revealed that actor Vince Vaughn will be joining him. "Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder," is the setting of the second season of "True Detective" as revealed in the press statement from HBO. The statement further revealed that Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, "a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him." Meanwhile, Vaughn will play the role of Frank Semyon, "a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner." According to CNN, the series creator Nic Pizzolato who will be writing eight episodes of the new season said that the new season will be set in California instead of Los Angeles. The first season of "True Detective" had Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson who are also executive producers of the series as the main leads. "Fast & Furious 6" director Justin Lin will be directing the first 2 episodes of "True Detective 2".
