24 Feb – Since the release of the highly controversial erotic romance drama "Fifty Shades of Grey" local adult sex toy stores in Singapore have been experiencing high demands for sex toys featured in the books and movies. According to Coconut Singapore, store owners of adult sex toys have admitted that their products have been flying off the shelves since the movie's release at local cinemas.
One of the highly in demand sex toy is the Ben Wa balls also known as Orgasm balls, which was commonly used by the main characters in the book. Alice Maple, the owner of an online adult toy store said that the product which previously sold only 10 sets per month, now sells 40 to 50 sets within a month. Other toys that are commonly used in "Fifty Shades of Grey" are leather handcuffs, floggers and bed restraints. It is also revealed that one of the store owners plans to bring in the official "Fifty Shades of Grey" merchandise into his catalogue.
