Jared Leto denies attachment to Playboy biopic


Jared Leto was previously announced to play the Playboy founder in the upcoming Brett Ratner-helmed movie.

2 Nov – A representative of Jared Leto has recently denied the actor's attachment to the upcoming Hugh Hefner movie that was set to be directed by "Rush Hour" helmer Brett Ratner.

"Jared Leto is not and was not attached to a Brett-Ratner-directed Hugh Hefner film, nor will he be working with him in the future," Leto's representative said to Deadline.

"Earlier reports were incorrect and not confirmed by his representatives."



The statement came in light of the recent sexual allegations made by six women, who include actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, towards Ratner.

The 48-year-old director and producer announced earlier last month that a biopic revolving around the life of the late Playboy founder is at work, with Jared Leto attached as Hefner, as well as a reboot of the 1960s show "Playboy After Dark".

All Playboy projects have been put on hold as the enterprises are now distancing themselves from Ratner.

"We are deeply troubled to learn about the accusations against Brett Ratner. We find this kind of behaviour completely unacceptable. We are putting all further development of our projects with RatPac Entertainment on hold until we are able to review the situation further," Playboy Enterprises responded.
