9 Jun – After getting nominated at the Academy Awards for her role in "Promising Young Woman", British actress Carey Mulligan is in negotiations to star in a new acting project centering on the two journalists who brought down disgraced producer, Harvey Weinstein.

The drama, titled "She Said", will be based on the New York Times bestseller, "She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement", written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, the two New York Times investigative reporters who exposed Harvey Weinstein's history of abuse and sexual misconduct against women - which was a catalyst for the burgeoning #MeToo movement.

The 69-year-old former film producer is now serving his 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault at the Wende Correctional Facility in New York.

Kantor and Twohey revealed a series of alleged sexual harassment and assaults against women by the movie mogul in an article published by the New York Times on 5 October 2017. The article not only included details of hush money paid to cover up the sexual indiscretions, but also first-person accounts by actresses accusing Weinstein of such indiscretions.

Aside from Mulligan, fellow actress Zoe Kazan is also in talks to play one of the said journalists.

However, it is noted that the movie will not be focusing on Weinstein or the said scandal, but more instead on the dynamic of the all-women journalist team who persevered through various threats of lawsuits and intimidation.

Mulligan is currently filming Johan Renck's "Spaceman" opposite Adam Sandler, and is also set to work with Bradley Cooper in "Maestro".
