20 Apr – "Equals" has released its official trailer and many locals may be straining their eyes right now trying to spot Singapore in the 2-minute plus clip. Since the movie is set in a dystopian future, it makes sense that the locations may not appear as how they do in real life, thanks to visual effects that enhances their futuristic features in the movie. Here is a glimpse of a scene that may have been shot at ION Orchard when the movie was shooting here back in 2014.
This isn't the first time that Singapore was featured in a Hollywood production. Other movies that have also used Singapore as its shooting locations include "Hitman: Agent 47" and "Independence Day: Resurgence". Directed by Drake Doremus, "Equals" tells the story of Silas (Nicholas Hoult) and Nia (Kristen Stewart) who live in a futuristic dystopian society where human emotions have been eradicated. When the two of them are infected with a disease that allows them to feel, they decide to escape together. "Equals" comes into cinemas this 26 May.
