26 Feb - James Gunn has dismissed the notion that he and Zack Snyder are working on a DC project together, following a recent photo he shared on social media.

The DC Studios co-head recently posted a photo of him and Snyder together, writing, "Always a pleasure catching up with my friend Zack Snyder, consummate filmmaker (and a doubly consummate storyteller!)", which had DC fans speculating that the two will work together again following 2004's "Dawn of the Dead".

However, when asked about it recently, Gunn said that the two were just hanging out.

"Then we're like, 'Let's take a picture together.' We knew full well what we were doing... He thought it was funny. I thought it was funny. And that's that," he said.

In another interview, the filmmaker said that he and Snyder sometimes talk about different things but took the photo because they know it would melt the internet.

"We knew that people have this view that somehow we have been pitted against each other," Gunn said. "It's odd to have someone who you're friendly with in real life be the guy that is positioned as your Lex Luthor, or I'm his Lex Luthor. It's just such a weird dynamic that's been created between factions online."

It is noted that fans of the Snyderverse have been very vocal in criticising Gunn's every move since his appointment as the co-head of DC Studios. They were also enraged over the director's decision to cast David Corenswet as Superman in the upcoming movie, instead of their favourite man of steel, Henry Cavill.
