Sony pulls the plug on "Street Fighter" movie's planned release
26 Mar - It looks like the fate of "Street Fighter" is undetermined as the movie's tentative release date has been taken off the Sony Pictures' roster.

The film, which was originally scheduled to be out in cinemas on 20 March 2026, has now gone missing from the release calendar, with no replacement slot announced.


It is noted that "Bad Trip" director Kitao Sakurai was hired to helm the video game adaptation last month. No cast has been revealed yet.

The project is co-developed and produced with Capcom. "Street Fighter", which made its debut as an arcade fighting game in 1987, was made into film first in 1994, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ming-Na Wen and Raul Julia among others.
