The Good, the Bad and the Mekong Massacre:

• Inspired from a true event, the movie is educational and simple to understand.

• The action in the film is very good though it's a little weak in the effects department, but overall there is no fault to be found on a technical level.

• The film seems to incorporate structure and orientation of mid 1980s American action films.

• There is little to zero character development and little narrative structure in the film, but if you don't pay too much attention to the story, the film is quite a spectacle.

Trivia:

• Zhang Hanyu's uniform in the movie weighs more than 40 pounds.
