Watch this if you liked: “The Conjuring”

The Good, the Bad and the Deadly Wish:

• Though unrealistic and quite predictable, the movie has its own appeal thanks to its simplistic style and attractive story.

• The movie does a great job at connecting the dots of plot points, pacing the story well and building the tension at key moments, making everything way more intense.

• This movie combines typical teenage dreams with the nightmare of the "Final Destination" films and the result is one creepy, scary, and brain-teasing good time.

• While certainly not an award-winning performance, Joey King gets props for carrying the load of the movie.

Trivia:

• Loosely based on W. W. Jacobs' short story "The Monkey's Paw".
