Watch this if you liked: “Once a Thief”

The Good, the Bad and the Top Thieves :

• The movie is a remake of a classic but doesn't really live up to it, even though the original one was not that good in the first place.

• The remake certainly doesn't prove to be any better than the 90's version, and is merely passable but ultimately an unremarkable entry to the genre.

• The movie borrows liberally from the "Mission: Impossible" plotlines, offering big set-pieces, lots of electronic gadgets, and twists that don't make much sense.

• Andy Lau's charms don't seem to work well in this film and this could be because he is reprising a role played by Chow Yun-fat when he was 36, while Lau is now 56.

• Though they say "Asian don't raisin", this maybe an exception for Lau who definitely can't pass off as someone in his early or mid-30s.

Trivia:

• The movie is a remake of John Woo's 1991 "Once a Thief".
