5 May – Last month "Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr. mentioned that he was interested in having his "Tropic Thunder" co-star, Ben Stiller to helm his upcoming live version movie, "Pinocchio". And now it seems that his dream may come true after all. According to Empire Online, Downey had already pitched the idea to Stiller while attending CinemaCon a few weeks back and that they have been throwing ideas around together. The "Tropic Thunder" writer-producer-director is reported to be in negotiations with Warner Bros. at the moment. If it all comes together, the "Iron Man" star will play Gepetto in the new take on the 1883's children novel, with Stiller directing the project.
Downey, who also serves as producer along with wife Susan Downey, at first considered "Dark Shadow" director, Tim Burton to work on the project, but finally decided to find someone else who would share their creative direction.
