3 Apr - Although his character Duncan Idaho has already met his heroic end in the first "Dune" movie, Jason Momoa recently spoiled the story by confirming that he will be returning for the third film.

Sharing the news during an appearance on TODAY to promote "A Minecraft Movie", Momoa stated that he will be reprising his role in the upcoming Denis Villeneuve film.

"I'm making a comeback. You heard it first, right here with you, baby," he told TODAY's Craig Melvin.

It is noted that fans of the Frank Herbert book series may not be surprised at all by the announcement, though those who watched the movies without first reading the books might consider it a spoiler.

To that, Momoa said, "Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to get in trouble or not, but it's the same thing like Game of Thrones, you know what I mean? If you didn't read the books, it's not my fault, right? Yeah, there's going to be... I'm going to be coming back."

It is noted that Villeneuve has revealed in October 2024 that he is writing the third film based on Herbert's "Dune: Messiah". Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and other cast members are expected to return.

The movie has already been slated for December 2026 release.
