10 Nov – One of Hollywood's leading men and one of China's biggest stars are teaming up for an action-packed comedy remake of a 2016 Vietnamese pic, "Saigon Bodyguards". Deadline broke the news that Chris Pratt and Wu Jing will be pairing up in the Hollywood remake, which will reunite them with Joe and Anthony Russo. The Russos will be producing the new movie through their AGBO production banner with Mike Larocca, alongside Pratt himself under the actor's Indivisible Productions.
As mentioned, this remake will be a reunion between Pratt and Wu with the Russo brothers. Pratt is well known for his work as Star-Lord in the "Avengers" movies directed by the Russos, who were also consultants on Wu's "Wolf Warriors 2", which is the highest-grossing movie in China with its $877 million box office collection, making it the highest-grossing non-English-language film ever. There is no production start or release date for the remake yet. Neither actor will be seen in any movie this year, with the pandemic having postponed most major releases, but Pratt will be returning to the big screen next year in "The Tomorrow War" and in 2022 with "Jurassic World: Dominion".
