2 April - Renowned actor Val Kilmer, best known for his iconic roles in "Top Gun" and as the caped crusader in "Batman Forever," has died at age 65.

His daughter Mercedes Kilmer confirmed to the media that pneumonia was the cause of death. She revealed that while her father had previously battled throat cancer following a 2014 diagnosis, he had recovered from that illness.

Kilmer was best known for his iconic portrayal of Iceman in "Top Gun" (1986), his role as Batman in "Batman Forever" (1995), and his acclaimed performance as Jim Morrison in "The Doors" (1991).


He recently appeared in the 2022 sequel "Top Gun: Maverick," reprising his role as Iceman alongside Tom Cruise.

Val Kilmer was survived by his two children, Jack and Mercedes Kilmer.
