Gerard Butler to reprise role in live-action "How To Train Your Dragon"

8 Jan - Gerard Butler is set to star in the live-action remake of his hit animated feature, "How To Train Your Dragon".

The actor, who voiced the character Stoick the Vast, who is the chieftain of Berk and father of the main character Hiccup in the previous animated film series, will again reprise his role albeit in person this time.



He will be joined by Mason Thames ("The Black Phone"), who will play the role of Hiccup (previously voiced by Jay Baruchel), as well as Nico Parker ("The Last of Us"), who will play the role of Astrid (previously voiced by America Ferrera).

The upcoming movie, which is based on the animated film series, which in turn was based on Cressida Cowell's books, tells the story of Hiccup, whose life changed after he befriended the legendary dragon, a night fury that he named Toothless.

The movie is set for release in June 2025.
