6 Mar - In a recent Instagram video, 21-year-old actor Millie Bobby Brown addressed negative media coverage about her physical appearance, denouncing what she describes as bullying disguised as journalism

The "Enola Holmes" star shared a three-minute video response after her appearances at the SAG and Brit awards. In the footage, Brown specifically highlighted unflattering article headlines and named the journalists responsible.

"I grew up in front of the world and for some reason people can't seem to grow up with me," Brown stated in the video. "Instead, they act like I'm supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things season one. And because I don't, I'm now a target."

Brown, who began her entertainment career at age nine with roles in "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" and "Intruders" before achieving global recognition as Eleven in Netflix's "Stranger Things," specifically called out articles criticising her hair, face, body and style.

"The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, is disturbing," Brown remarked. "That some of these articles are written by women makes it even worse."

In her makeup-free video, Brown expressed concern about the treatment of young women in the public eye. "This isn't journalism," she declared. "This is bullying."

Brown concluded with a pledge that "I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress or how I present myself. Let's do better, not just for me but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without the fear of being torn apart for simply existing."

Her statement has garnered support from fellow actors, including Sarah Jessica Parker who commented she was "enormously proud." Former child actor Mckenna Grace also added that "No young woman or person deserves to feel pressure or cruelty for simply existing."
