Efron & Hudgens move to Splitsville

Efron & Hudgens' blossoming relationship back in 2005.

14 Dec – "When there was me and you...." Seems like Vanessa Hudgens might be singing the song she once performed in "High School Musical" as multiple online sources including E! News, US Weekly and People confirmed that the Disney darling and beau, Zac Efron have decided to go separate ways after almost four years of romance.

However, unlike quite a number of ugly breakups in Hollywood, the King and Queen of High School Musical's split are on a mutual basis.

"It was mutual. They have been together for so long. It just ran its course," said a source who confirmed with USMagazine.com.

And the insider insists, "They are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up."

Efron, 23, and Hudgens who turns 22 today (14 Dec) met on the set of the first "High School Musical" movie in 2005 and during filming, the pair have gotten close and became a romantic item in 2006.

Sources say "they are still talking and still friends."

According to E! Online, despite all that the split have not tampered with their respective career as Efron is currently away filming "The Lucky One" in New Orleans, while Hudgens (more adoringly known as Baby V among fans) will wrap up the filming of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" later this week in Hawaii.
