Live-action "Lilo & Stitch" captures hearts with 158 million views in just 24 hours

17 Mar - The upcoming live-action remake of "Lilo & Stitch" is giving positive vibes for Disney, as it recently became their second most viewed live-action trailer of all time.

Garnering 158 million views within 24 hours after its debut, the movie lost only to the 2019's "The Lion King" teaser, which attracted 224.6 million views in just one day. It also became number 1 on China's Douyin platform.

The trailer, which was released on various platforms on 13 March, sees the blue alien meeting the Hawaiian orphan Lilo and goes on to cause shenanigans around their small town.

Many couldn't help but sing praises for the adorable live-action character of Stitch, which is still voiced by Chris Sanders, as well as the young actress, Maia Kealoha who is too adorable as Lilo.

Others are happy that the film doesn't seem to stray much from the original 2002 animated feature, with many of the characters resembling their animated versions.

The upcoming movie is set to be released on 23 May.
