Watch this if you liked: “Ice Age”, “Ice Age 2: The Meltdown” and “Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”

Even after three installments, "Ice Age 4: Continental Drift" is an entertaining addition to the series with its refreshing dialogue, and the credibility of Blue Sky Studios should no longer be questioned, seeing that their latest feature was warmly received and highly anticipated by animation fans. Fans of the series should rejoice because this is the best one yet in the series.

New directors Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier are still able to put a new spin using the same cast of characters that have grown familiar to us over the years, as well as effortlessly introducing a new set of characters to us such as the hideous and fierce tigress Shira voiced by Jennifer Lopez, Sid's grandmother, Manny's daughter Peaches and her molehog friend, Louis. In addition, the new antagonist, Captain Gutt and his pirate crew are shown as vile and disgusting beings, which are applause-worthy feats, considering how watered down animated villains can be.

The script by Michael Berg and Jason Fuchs is also stomach-wreckingly hilarious, with lines like those in the scene where Sid says goodbye to Captain Gutt. For all his annoyingness, the movie could not have been this funny without the smelly sloth, who is now accompanied by his gangster-like grandmother called Granny (duh!).

The lessons taught in this movie about sacrifice for the sake of friendship and a relationship between a father and his daughter are heartwarming and charming, which makes this action comedy all the more watchable. If you have not watched "Ice Age 4: Continental Drift" yet, go watch it now!

The film is also available in 2D and 3D in Malaysia and Singapore's cinemas.
