Watch this if you liked: "Koi Mil Gaya", "Krissh 2" and the "X-Men" franchise.

"Krissh 3" is a third film in the trilogy from Bollywood. The film continues from "Krissh 2", as Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) who now lives happily with his wife (Priyanka Chopra) and his father Rohit in Mumbai. While Krishna does odd jobs, he turns into Krissh whenever the city is under threat and Rohit works a scientist to help benefit the society. On the other side of the world, Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) a handicapped evil genius exhibits telekinetic powers and his female henchman Kaya (Kangana Ranaut) who has the ability to take anybody's form, develops a serum for Kaal's cure and also a virus to create fear in humanity around the world.

No doubt, Hrithik Roshan was the perfect choice to play Krissh and does a good job portraying Krishna and Rohit as well. Unfortunately, Priyanka Chopra does not do much here. Surprisingly though, the villains deserves more credit. Vivek Oberoi does well as the handicapped and super evil Kaal while Kangana Ranaut gives a role of her life as the seductive Kaya. Comedian Rajpal Yadav does provide some laughter as well.

Bollywood as usual have always drawn ideas from Hollywood films. "Krissh 3" is an outrageous mishmash of Bollywood which meets examples like "E.T.", "Superman" and even "X-Men" with set pieces, sound design and screenplay structure that looked like it was liberally borrowed from Hollywood's imagination. Krissh itself is literally a combination of Superman (his super powers) and Batman (his costumes) while Kaal is combination of Professor Xavier and Magneto from the "X-Men" franchise. The film's plot draws a lot of inspiration from "Mission Impossible 2", "Spiderman" and "Superman", so to summarize, the film actually does not have any originality. The first half looks interesting but just as the antagonist approaches in middle of the story, the film's pace slows down and looks very predictable to the end. Anyways, credit should still be given to the director Rakesh Roshan to attempt something different and still manages to capture audience attention throughout the film.

The film does very well in the visual effects department though. Of course there are scenes where the effects are quite obvious but overall, it still looks great for the film. Unlike "Koi Mil Gaya" and "Krissh 2", which had wonderful songs, "Krissh 3" disappoints completely. "Raghupati Raghav" and the "God Allah Aur Baghwan" are the only consolations for the film songs.

Overall, this homegrown superhero it's not perfect but it has some good elements and all the ingredients that make a splendid superhero film. Kids will definitely appreciate it more compared to the adults. Two-and-a-half stars for the film is given as a rating and an additional half star is given just for Hrithik Roshan, as this reviewer enjoyed "Krrish 2".
