Watch this if you liked: “You Are the Apple of My Eye”

The Good, the Bad and the Puppy Love:

• Fans of romantic comedy will enjoy the movie as it has all the right touches (not to mention leads who are easy on the eye) - it evokes nostalgia in the older audiences and resonates quite well with the younger audiences.

• The cast, led by Vivian Sung, Darren Wang and Dino Lee, works well with each other. Their performance is good, maybe because their own ages are not too far off from their characters'.

• The effort put into remaking the details during the era - since the movie is set in the early '90s - is commendable. The accurate hair and clothing style, the hangout places, the interests of teenagers back then, show that the production definitely did their homework before filming.

• The length of the movie could be reduced as some parts of the plot are repetitive to the point that they do not exactly serve any purpose being there other than to give the eye candies more screen time.

Trivia:

• Darren Wang promised to skinny dip if the movie reached NTD300 million at Taiwan's box office, which he fulfilled on 15 September 2015.
