The Good, the Bad and the Climbers:

• Based on several books and consultations with real-life survivors, director Baltasar Kormakur created an ensemble version of the story that may or may not sit right with some of the survivors involved in the 1996 tragedy. It is an intriguing attempt in filling up the blanks and bringing closure, in a way, to those involved.

• Salvatore Totino's cinematography and the visual effects applied in the movie make it worth a watch in IMAX 3D, as it will give the audiences a feeling of complete immersion in the film. Maybe not so good for those easily panicked as some of the scenes are so realistic and nerve-wrecking they might be left clutching their seats so tight they will leave their imprints on the upholstery.

• But nature lovers will definitely love the scenic view from high up the mountain, even if most of it will later consist only of heavy snow, the rolling white landscape of nothingness still captures the beauty of nature perfectly.

• With a cast made up of mostly Academy Award nominees, the acting in the movie is nothing short of brilliant, with each actor successfully pulling off his or her own harried character.

Trivia:

• Journalist Jon Krakauer, author of "Into Thin Air", disliked his portrayal in the movie as he said that was not what took place - he called the disaster drama "total bull".

Best Watched With:

• Anyone not suffering from acrophobia (fear of height) or cryophobia (fear of cold).
