Narnia mania dominates GSC this season

16 May – Narnia mania officially bewitches cinemas nationwide this weekend, as the second adaptation of the C.S. Lewis book series continues the summer blockbuster assault on all international fronts following "Iron Man". Closer to home, the weekend will see character appearances from the Narnia world at GSC Cinemas this weekend. Fans are urged to bring their cameras along to GSC Mid Valley on Saturday, 17 May 2008 at 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. if they would like to take a picture or two. Another appearance is scheduled on the same day at 12 p.m. at GSC Signature. Characters from the fantasy realm know no rest, so the lot of them will head on to GSC 1 Utama as well on Sunday, appearing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Have you collected all four Narnia glasses yet?
That should keep you Narnia fans busy!

A series of four collectible Narnia glasses (free with every large popcorn set at GSC) are already being snapped up fast and you risk losing the chance to get them if you don't hurry. Last week, the first design was rolled out, featuring Prince Caspian himself. After the Ben Barnes mug (pardon the pun), Aslan is out this week but word is that it is already sold out in many locations. The following two weeks will be the Pevensie siblings and the Narnia crest. For the truly ambitious, retain your GSC "The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian" tickets because that's the proof of purchase you need to join GSC's premium merchandise contest on www.gsc.com.my. Top prize for that one is a treasure trove of one complete Narnia book set, polo tee, bag, watch and six GSC ticket vouchers, which you can even use to watch "Prince Caspian" again if you like!

"Hi, fancy getting a Narnia glass?" – a scene from "Once"
Away from the Narnia mania, there isn't much you can look forward to except a couple of limited releases. Owen Wilson's "Drillbit Taylor" goes out at some 10 screens after being on sneaks last weekend while Irish rom-com "Once" probably wished its exhibitors thought twice about unrolling at three of the four GSC International Screens, due Cinema Online's rare five star rating. Of course no weekend is complete without a new Indon horror release to amuse ourselves with, so the interestingly titled "Beranak Dalam Kubur" makes 10 screens this weekend.
