9 Dec – Veteran TVB actor, Wong Wai had passed away early this week at the age of 70 due to stomach cancer. Wong's daughter, Stephanie brought the unfortunate news to the public through Weibo on Tuesday. Wong passed away on 15 November. Hoping to remain low-key after his death, Wong was said to have not want so many people to know about his impending death. His family members followed his wish and thus handled his funeral in a quiet manner. "Recently, I have been busy taking care of my father's funeral... he had always been low-profile and even after his death, he did not want a lavish funeral," said Stephanie. Born in 1941, Wong began his acting career in Kwong Ngai Film Production Company by performing in Cantonese films. He then switched to Hong Kong television series in the 1970s and had worked with RTV, ATV and TVB. Some of Wong's well known classic pieces were "The Rise And Fall Of The Qing Dynasty", "Vengeance" and his character in "State Of Divinity", which was considered as one of his finest role in his long acting career. After calling a hiatus in 2002, Wong migrated to Canada to spend the rest of his days and is now survived by his wife, Ho Mung Na, a supermodel of the 70s, two sons and a daughter who entered the entertainment industry after joining a beauty pageant contest in Hong Kong.
