25 Feb – Fresh from her attendance at the 2013 Oscars, we have received news that Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis will take up a role in the anticipated remake of the musical "Annie".

We are not very sure if she has a voice, but with the excessively large amount of talent stored up in her, we are not surprised if she does. Director Will Gluck from "Easy A" is signed on to direct, along with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, as well as Jay-Z as producers!

Will Smith's daughter, Willow was up for the role, but it was rumoured that actress Emma Stone advised Willow to be a normal 12-year-old and leave the project!

Wallis was nominated for Actress in a Leading Role for her turn in "Beasts Of The Southern Wild", which centres on a six-year-old girl and her hot tempered father's attempts at survival after a flood nearly destroys their bayou community. However, she lost the award to Jennifer Lawrence.

The remake of "Annie", which is about a little orphan girl finding a family of her own, is aiming for a late 2014 release date.
