Tony Jaa and Scott Adkins in "Kickboxer" reboot


Martial artists, Tony Jaa and Scott Adkins to join the cast for the reboot 1989 film, "Kickboxer".

7 Aug – "Ong Bak" actor, Tony Jaa and "The Expendables 2" actor, Scott Adkins will be added to the cast for the reboot of Jean-Claude Van Damme's 1989 martial arts film, "Kickboxer" which is helmed by "Tai Chi 0" and "Tai Chi Hero" director, Stephen Fung.


Other cast that will be in "Kickboxer" reboot, (L-R) Alain Moussi, George St. Pierre and Dave Bautista.

Deadline confirms that Jaa and Adkins will be joining the previously announced cast "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor, Dave Bautista, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" actor, George St. Pierre and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actor, Alain Moussi in the reboot film.


The original "Kickboxer" film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Kurt Sloan.

The upcoming film follows Kurt Sloan played by Moussi, a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand with his brother to challenge Tong Po played by Bautista.

Sloan later learns the secrets of the kickboxing art, Muay Thai from Xian Chow, a famous Muay Thai trainer played by Jaa to avenge his brother who died in the hands of Tong Po.
