Singapore can't get enough of "Star Wars". |
4 Dec – The Force is getting stronger in Singapore, everywhere you look, there's bound to be at least one "Star Wars"–related item within reach.
Opening in less than two weeks in cinemas, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which is set 30 years after the events in "Return of the Jedi" where Darth Vader had been defeated, follows the Rebel Alliance and the Empire that have now become the Resistance and the First Order, respectively.
Before it awakens in cinemas this 17 December, fans can get to enjoy several special "Star Wars" themed offers and exhibitions.

SMRT passengers will soon get to ride the trains along with some very special friends – the characters from "Star Wars", specifically.
According to a press release, SMRT, who collaborated with Disney and Lucasfilm for the project, will be launching the "Star Wars" themed trains in mid-December to coincide with the sci-fi movie's release. Apart from that, customers who shop at SMRT retail shops, Kallang Wave and iMOBShop.sg will also get the chance to win limited-edition Star Wars premiums and collectibles.

Too adorable to resist, FUNKO "Star Wars" figurines can be obtained at all GV Cinemas. Priced at SGD19.90 each, there are a total of ten figurines to be collected. Among the figurines available are BB-8, Stormtroopers, Kylo Ren and Chewbacca. GV Movie Club members get to purchase the figurines at SGD18.90 each.

If you're thinking of watching the upcoming "Star Wars" in 3D and you want to look cool while doing so, then grab the special RealD 3D glasses from GV. This will be the perfect excuse for "Star Wars" fans to go check out the newly renovated Capitol Theatre as the upcoming instalment of the franchise will be screened at the brand new GV @ Capitol, as we previously reported. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office, only opened from this month until 6 January 2016, located at B1 of Capitol Theatre.

Also as we previously reported, the X-Wing Fighter has landed at Changi Airport's Terminal 3 and will stay exhibited there until next month. The life-size replica allows fans to climb inside and explore the battleship. Over at Terminal 2, fans can take pictures with the Stormtroopers guarding the TIE Fighter. Both battleships will stay put at their respective locations till 5 January 2016.
