24 Nov – Tim Burton is saying no can do to creating another "The Nightmare Before Christmas" movie, which means there will be no sequels, prequels or even a reboot of the title. In an interview with Empire, the filmmaker stated that the 1993 film is so important to him that he doesn't want to touch it for any reason at all. "I've done sequels, I've done other things, I've done reboots, I've done all that shit, right? I don't want that to happen to this. It's nice that people are maybe interested [in another one], but I'm not," he said.
Burton added, "I feel like that old guy who owns a little piece of property and won't sell to the big power-plant that wants to take my land. 'Get off of my land! You pesky little... You ain't getting this property! I don't care what you want to build on it. You come on my property... Where's my shotgun?'"
It is noted that while the idea of the movie was conceived by Burton, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was not directed by him, but by "Coraline" director, Henry Selick. It follows the character of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he stumbles into Christmas Town and tries to recreate it in his town instead of Halloween.
