The Tenants Downstairs

A landlord inherits a rental apartment from his relative, and the building has been installed with cameras in every nook and cranny. This is because the landlord has a disturbing hobby - he likes to peep into the darkest aspects of every seemingly normal human being. His tenants are made up of a single father and his daughter, a sexy office lady, a reclusive porn-addicted college student, a gay couple, a divorced sports teacher, and a secret novelist who is always dressed in white. The landlord spends his days spying on each of his tenant, until one day, he witnesses the novelist torturing a man in her room.

Watch this if you liked: “The Tag-Along”

The Good, the Bad and the Lunatic Tenants:

• The film has a lot of logically impossible and implausible events but they were delivered so well that you don't really care.

• For a Taiwanese movie, the film is visually impressive, from the blood scene, to the nasty cockroach scene, it is really freaky but that's the whole point of it.

• The acting of each cast is quite convincing and they somehow represent the darker side of society with the apartment that they lived in being the society itself.

• Though the film has some cliche moments, the story, the writing as well as the twist are quite good.
